Default N/Me Build

Necromancer/Mesmer
1.Soul Barbs
2.Spiteful Spirit
3.Backfire
4.Wastrel’s Worry
5.Parasitic Bond
6.Enfeeble*
7.Plague Touch*
8.Resurrection Signet

The build is simple, but I think it will be effective, unfortunately, I can't test it yet as I don't have all the necessary skills unlocked.

In PvP, this Necro would chose a target of any type. (Preferably one of importance, such as a monk or flag carrier). First, it would cast Soul Barbs, followed by SS for Warriors/Rangers and Backfire for casters. Then use Parasitic Bond as a cover hex, and later healing. Now for the fun... Use Wastrel's Worry. If they don't do something then Wastrel's Worry kicks in, and with the soul barbs that is 80+ damage in three seconds. If they chose to fight through the shutdown, then they take damage... If they don't then they take damage.

Enfeeble and Plague Touch are more situational. Plague Touch is just as backup for condition removal. Enfeeble is to cast on warriors who fight through the SS, to lower their damage. Either of these two skills could be replaced for something that fits your current situation.

Please leave commentary and advice on this build. I like the idea of it, as I used to play monk and being shutdown could really kill the whole team. Right now I am playing through the PvE to unlock the necro and mesmer skills, and I will do more testing when I can use them in PvP.

not bad. but do you know if you will have enough energy for this to work? im not sure where all your attributes are so i cant realy guess hoe well this would work.
i have a smimilar build for my me/mo
still use backfire and worry but empathy instead of ss (maybe not as good but it isnt elite) also becuase you can only have backfire on 1/2 the time i take power spike(also good for finishing targets off) energy burn is also a precent skill.
although there is not cover hex worry is usualy on anyway so there is not need.

although this build is good maybe you should thing about fine-tuning it abit.

On further reflection, if their is a large energy problem, switching Soul Barbs with Energy Tap or Inspired Hex would help a lot, and if their is a smaller problem with energy then switch out plague touch for energy tap or inspired hex. (If you switch out Soul Barbs, you use 10 less energy from the start)
However, i ran through the math of it, and I should be able to shut down a person and deal the damage for about a minute before running out of energy, if i go slow and conservative. In the PvP i have played, that is usually long enough to last a skirmish, and then you usually have time to regenerate.

I agree with dumping the Soul barbs. Remember as an SS, often times you DONT want the cursed enemies to die, because that's how you do your damage... SS.

Here's my N/Me SS builds
--------------------------------------------------------------------
For old UW (2-man teams with invincimonk):

1. Vampiric gaze
2. Blood Rit (for the monk)
3. Simpathetic visage (for smites)
4. Desecrate Ench (while SS recharges)
5. SS
6. Arcane Echo
7. Awaken the blood
8. Res Sig

Illusion about 8
Blood about 8
Curses 16
Death w/e
Soulreaping 10

Dont hesitate to superior rune as much as you want, cause if the monk is good (and you're not stupid) the aggro goes 100% to him.

Vampiric is a great finish-off move also gives you some self heal when you f$%^-up and get aggrod. DO NOT replace it with the equivalent signet (forget wht its called, Barbed Sig?) because that one casts slow and recharges even slower. If you try to go toe to toe with a smite or coldfire, relying on the sig to keep you up... you will die.

Some may disagree with the low illusion, it works just fine; against smites i echo the SV!

Equipemnt: All tattoos
Curses +1 offhand (Villnars Glove)
Max customized truncheon (kills nightmares in 2 hits fater than they can rend enchantments)
Anythign that gibves curses recharge/improves casting speed is good.
In the best case scenario I can cast SS 4 times in 14 seconds and one of them does 43 damage... of course the worst case scenario is 4 times in 24 seconds and all 4 SS do only 41 damage each, which still sucks at the receiving end.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
In the new Tombs UW:
Forget the blood and illusion and go crazy with Domination and some Inspiration

1. Backfire
2. SHATTER ENCHANTMENT (can do 100+ damage to multiple targets even if Dom is not maxed, and even if it didnt removeing some of those mesmer hexes is great help)
3. Interrupt (Powerspike)
4. Shivers (for worms)
5. SS
6. Arcane Echo
7. Mantra of Resolve
8. Res Sig

Sometimes Im selfish and leave out Res in favor of Awaken the Blood. Of course before every battle you would have to cast AtB, Resolve then Echo, which means youre heading into the fight some 40 energy down. This is not a big deal if the MM is skillfull and always has tons of minions, but you have to be good at energy management! Also, i hate relying on other ppl to do their job right (the MM) so i can do mine, so more often then not i take the res sig.

Other skill to consider are Barbs (awesome with minions) and Enfeebling blood (to take teh fangs out of the Insane... melee things).
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Heres the best tip for an SS necro:
use a Max 15/-1 focus thingie and rely on soulreaping(10+) for energy regain in areas with lots of enemies. (ie the tombs, I dont wanna hear whining posts that it didnt help against your doppelganger and it kicked your ass cause you ran out of energy.)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally Furnace farming

Any of the builds above work, but U dont need things like SV or resolve. However you DO need Shivers especially for Monk bosses! And please dont announce things such as "SS/SV Necro LFG for Oro farming" cause it tells everyone you're a noob and none will pick send u an invite. SV is useless in teh furnace.
